THEY ALL KNEW… AND THEY DID NOTHING!

The IDA originally hired their then CPA firm CLA to do an ‘Agreed Upon Procedures’ for the CareSync project to prove to the public it was legitimate. When then IDA Board Member Donald Samuels questioned why the original CareSync ‘Agreed Upon Procedures’ had NOW become an “Examination’ at the request of CLA then IDA Board Member and Chair Vanessa Hernandez said “Basically it means they’ll be more thorough than the original intent.”

When the $80,000 Examination was completed NO ONE FROM THE IDA OR CARESYNC would sign the Management Rep letter attesting the results to be free from any KNOWN fraud and/or material misstatement.

Everyone of the Board members, except for Donald Samuels, KNEW that there was no oversight or accountability for the $7.25 million given to CareSync. EVERYONE ONE OF THE BOARD MEMBERS KNEW! COMM/IDA LIAISON/DE FACTO IDA BOARD MEMBER MIKE THOMPSON KNEW! As the IDA Liaison Mike would have informed the BOCC. ALL OF THE COMMISSIONERS KNEW!

And yet, NOT ONE OF THEM DID ANYTHING!

Go to the 51:00 MM on this meeting video. Listen to Don Samuels question the change and listen to Vanessa and Bill justify it. Keep listening to the end. Listen to Henry Kuhlman during his public comment! And spoiler alert… NO ONE answers Mr. Kuhlman’s questions…

WILL THE BOARD MEMBERS BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE?

From this story:
“In an extraordinary meeting Monday, 10 current and former members of the board of directors of the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence and two top executives will have the opportunity to explain their actions to legislators as they attempt to avoid criminal charges stemming from allegations of financial abuse at the embattled publicly-funded agency.”
Wonder if our current and former IDA Board Members are worried? We would be. According to IDA Dir Bill Lambert, he only does THE WILL OF HIS BOARD! The IDA Board KNEW there was NO FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT OR ACCOUNTABILITY of the $7.25 million in public $$ given to CareSync and THEY DID NOTHING!

HARDEE COUNTY HAS FAILED OUR KIDS

Look at #9, Hardee County School District. This is so disturbing. How will our kids EVER have a better future if they don’t get the proper education? Shame on you Hardee County!

9. Florida
> Worst school district: Hardee County School District
> Location: Hardee County
> Per student spending: $9,282 (total enrollment: 5,226)
> High school graduation rate: 58.4%
> Adults with a bachelor’s degree: 9.6%

GOV. RICK SCOTT WE DON’T WANT ‘POOPY WATER’

From this story:
“Saff writes, “As a medical doctor, I don’t know any patients who would want to drink partially treated poopy water, but if Floridians don’t call Gov, Rick Scott and demand he veto the toilet-to-tap bill, we may all be soon drinking it.”

And this:
“Although the shit water would meet federal drinking water standards, those guidelines aren’t strict enough and are “woefully outdated,” Saff argues.”

So we have to wonder, if we already have the threat of ‘slightly radioactive’ water will this be ‘slightly radioactive poopy water?’

IF WHAT WE ARE SEEING IS THIS BAD, HOW BAD IS WHAT WE DON’T SEE?

We have been thinking about how corrupt our Hardee County leadership is. How they fight us every step of the way in getting to the truth. They fight us on public records requests. SOE Diane Smith went so far as to violate FL public records laws and ultimately agreed to a one year ‘Pre-Filing Deferred Prosecution Contract’ from State Attorney Brian Haas office. IDA Director Bill Lambert filed a lawsuit against former IDA Board member Donald Samuels and Henry Kuhlman claiming ‘confusion’ about public records laws rather than provide the public records they requested. The Director claimed confidentiality over the CareSync records that ended up with another lawsuit to gain access to them.

Our leaders are never forthcoming with the truth. They hide behind claims of confidentiality. They plead ignorance. They ignore our questions. They make every effort to portray us as the bad guys.

So…….. if the information we do manage to get our hands on is this bad…. Can you imagine how bad what we’re not seeing is? That’s a scary thought isn’t it?

WHAT NOW? THEY SAID WE CAN’T AFFORD IT…….

“Gov. Rick Scott signed legislation today requiring every nursing home and assisted living facility in Florida to have an emergency generator, following a tragedy last September in Hollywood.”

After Hurricane Irma the 10/12/17 Herald Advocate had a story about the new state law requiring backup generators for retirement and nursing homes. It quoted Commissioners Mike Thompson and Russell Melendy as saying there’s just no money in the budget to provide backup generators for Resthaven. The just can’t find between $70,000 to $85,000 in their budget for the safety and wellbeing of our senior citizens living in Resthaven.

The BOCC ALWAYS finds the money for any ‘special projects’ they deem deserving of public tax $$. For example, the failed Mud Run that cost the county almost that much. So, put on your big boy Commission pants and do the right thing!

The Herald Advocate story is posted in our comment section.

HEY BILL…. HOW ABOUT LOTTERY TICKETS?

We just saw where the jackpot for Mega Millions has grown to $458 million! The cash option is estimated to be $247 million!!!!

So Bill what do you say we take the few $$ millions we have left in Mosaic public economic development funds and buy lottery tickets? With an estimated cash payout of $247 million divided by 27,360 HC residents (as of 2016) that would be approximately $9,027.78 per resident.

We, the residents, would have a better shot at lottery winnings than benefitting from your economic development ‘vision.’
